Temple Jordan

Temple Jordan was born and raised in Newark, NJ.  She earned a Masters of Education in Organizational Management from Endicott College and a Graduate Certificate in Diversity Leadership from Temple University. Temple has over 10 years of experience leading and facilitating dialogues on topics related to identity development, power, privilege and social justice. She is committed to identifying cultural, systemic and institutional forces that impact an individual’s understanding of oneself and others as a means to create positive change in their communities. A direct communicator, Temple utilizes hard truths, history and wit to connect participants to the content as well as engage with one another. Temple currently works as an Assistant Director for Mentoring and Inclusion Programs in the Office of Social Justice, Inclusion and Conflict Resolution at Rowan University.

When Donald Trump called Hillary Clinton, “a Nasty woman” during the final presidential debate of 2016, the concept of the “Nasty” woman reemerged into popular discourse. From the #IAmANastyWomanBecause social media campaign to Ashley Judd’s sharing a “Nasty” poem at the 2017 Women’s March, being “Nasty” seems to be gaining a lot of popularity. But what is a “Nasty” woman and who gets to define her?!? This interactive workshop will explore the historical, political and societal implications of a “nasty” woman. Participants will be given the opportunity to ask themselves: To Be or Not to Be: A “Nasty” Woman?!?
