Brittany Williams
Brittany Williams is an author, creator, mental health advocate, and entrepreneur.
Born in Detroit, MI, but raised in rural Mount Pleasant, MI, Brittany struggled to find her identity. She suffered from anxiety, depression, and suicidal ideation for several years, which ultimately led her to alcoholism and other unhealthy coping mechanisms. After reaching a point where she felt she had hit rock bottom, Brittany felt the nagging feeling in her heart that there just had to be more to life, so she picked up her pen and started journaling about it.
Brittany’s journal excerpts soon evolved into a blog where she vulnerably shared her most painful moments, as well as her methods for healing from them. Brittany’s blog quickly became a motivational resource for many of her peers, who were also silently suffering from their own battles with mental health. Brittany understands the need for mental health awareness and works diligently to connect with others and help them believe that they, too, have a true purpose in life. She strives to be an advocate for the positive effects of embracing healthy coping mechanisms.
This year on her birthday, Brittany self published her first book P.O.U.R: How to Cope With Depression While Controlling What’s In Your Cup
