Dellareese Cofield- Martinez
Dellareese Cofield- Martinez (she/her/hers) is currently serving as the Director of Diversity and Inclusion at Vanguard University, a doctoral student in the Cultural Foundations of Education program at Syracuse University, and a DEI training consultant. Dellareese has served as an instructor, trainer, and trainer of Intergroup Dialogue and uses a multimethod approach in studying the impact of facilitation labor inside and outside of spaces that impact the learning of those spaces. Finding her passion in her early years of college, Dellareese is committed to sharing Christ’s heart for justice and reconciliation by educating herself, peers, students, and colleagues on issues of racial reconciliation and social justice. Dellareese has more than a decade of experience working in the higher education setting and training corporations in areas of justice and navigating inclusive diverse work environments. While working on her Masters at Florida International University, she conducted a final capstone project on the social justice climate of college campuses. She is now working to further pedagogy that addresses the need for inclusive education classrooms and practices and her research focus is on Social Justice Education courses in higher education and their impact on civic responsibility. She completed a Certificate of Advanced Study (C.A.S.) in Women and Gender Studies at SU. When she is not working to create a more equitable campus, she spends her time being a mom of two little boys, traveling and crafting.
