Bio: Cristina currently designs and coordinates education and leadership programs for her sorority, Alpha Delta Pi. She graduated from California State University, Fullerton with a B.A. in Political Science and from earned an M.Ed. in Counselor Education – Student Affairs from Clemson University. Professionally, she has worked in various capacities leading and planning training, development, and educational experiences for college students and staff. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, being a foodie, and getting lost in a good book.
Dare to Be: Overcoming Imposter Syndrome Workshop Level: Advanced
We’ve all had it. That nervous feeling making us second-guess our capabilities. Imposter syndrome is a term used to describe an individual who struggles to internalize or acknowledge their accomplishments and abilities. Though this syndrome can impact all genders, statistics have shown the negative impact it has on women in the workplace and on college campuses. In this session, participants will learn about imposter syndrome, its impact, and strategies to overcome it.
Start with Why: Developing Your Mission and Vision Workshop Level: Beginner
A mission and vision serve as guidepost for leaders and organizations and it all starts with “why.” By defining their “why,” individuals can design a framework for their leadership-style and inspire others to engage and strive for their best. The “why” helps clearly articulate purpose, impact, and vision. It inspires. In this session, participants will be able to identify their “why,” begin to develop their mission and vision statements, and apply their “why” to their leadership role.
Thrive: Cultivating Inclusive Communities Workshop Level: Beginner-Intermediate
Each of us offer a wealth of experiences, beliefs, and perspectives that contribute to our communities. In our global world, it is more important than ever to strive to understand the uniqueness of every individual. By better understanding the identities and experiences we all bring, we can begin to cultivate more inclusive communities where each one of us can thrive. In this session, we will explore our own identities, the experiences of others, and strategies to create more inclusive communities.
