Contracting to Expand: Self-care for Overachievers Workshop Level: Beginner
Many of us have a hard time declining invitations or keeping space in our schedule to rejuvenate. It is imperative that we understand the importance of pulling ourselves in from time to time to more effectively expand in the work we do. It’s difficult to say ‘no’ when opportunities arise about which we’re passionate. We’ll practice techniques to say, “Yes, and…” as a way to work toward self-preservation and avoid burn out. We cannot effectively show up for others if our cup isn’t full and we aren’t taking care of ourselves. Let’s make sure we include balance into our practice to achieve our greatest potential.
Finding Your Voice Workshop Level: Intermediate
The socialization of women and girls often teaches us to be accommodators. It takes time to learn how to speak up for ourselves or others. We need to examine why this is a difficult process for many people, how to build a coalition of support to ground your confidence, and learning ways to strategize on speaking out about the things we’re most passionate about.
Bringing Kindness to Inclusion Workshop Level: Beginner
The word inclusion has been used so much recently that it has become both water-downed and highly politicized. This program will provide a space to talk about inclusion from a place of kindness. Come discover new ways to empathize with peers and others vastly different from yourself by pursuing conversations to find commonalities rather than differences.
